Our Practice

Dr. Paul Baubly and Dr. Kathryn Baubly are internists who strive to keep you healthy through practicing preventative medicine, which uses evidence-based tools such as screening tests, vaccines and routine wellness visits to maintain health and prevent disease. Our priority is keeping our patients healthy and out of the hospital. In the event that a patient is hospitalized, Dr. Paul & Kathryn Baubly do not use hospitalists; they will directly manage all of your medical care during the hospital stay. Dr. Paul & Kathryn Baubly are both on staff at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital.

We offer a variety of early morning, evening, and select Saturday appointments, to accommodate the traditional 9-5 work schedule. Dr. Kathryn Baubly has evening availability on Mondays and Wednesdays, as well as Saturday hours once per month. Dr. Paul Baubly has early morning appointments every Wednesday, and evening appointments on Thursdays. We prioritize acute illnesses, and do our best to offer same day appointments.

Visits

Medicare Wellness Visits

If you are a medicare patient, an annual visit is strongly recommended to keep both you and our physicians updated on your current state of health. As a practice that focuses on preventative medicine, we want to assist you in being proactive when it comes to your health. These annual visits are covered in full by your insurance.

Annual Visits

If you are a non-medicare patient, we recommend an annual physical, to keep up to date with your health status and any necessary prevention. These annual visits are typically covered in full by your insurance.

Nutrition Visits

A nutrition visit can be scheduled with Cyndi Cansler, a Registered and Licensed Dietitian. As part of the Affordable Care Act, almost all commercial insurance now covers nutritional counseling for patients, usually without a copay or deductible. Healthy patients are generally covered as a preventative service. In some cases a diagnosis of diabetes or overweight/obesity may be required. Ms. Cansler is credentialed with Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Aetna, and United Healthcare.

In-House Labs

Every Tuesday and Friday beginning at 6:30 am, we have appointments available for blood draws in office. Please check if you are coming in for a fasting lab; for example, a Lipid Panel, BMP, or CMP. For fasting labs, you may not eat anything for 12h prior to your appointment. You are, however, encouraged to drink plenty of water prior to the blood draw, and you may have black coffee if you wish. Please call our office if you have any questions regarding your lab appointment.
